A meeting was held on the formulation of Punjab Growth Strategy 2023 at PERI. The meeting was chaired by Minister for Finance, Government of Punjab, Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, attended by Chief Economist, P&D, Dr. M. Aman Ullah, and Professor Emeritus, Dr. Hafiz A. Pasha. The meeting started with the opening remarks by Dr. Aman followed by presentation on the Status of Social Sector in Punjab by Dr. Sobia Rose, Research fellow and an overview of Regional Disparities by Mr. Nadeem, Assoc. RF. Mr. Imran, Asst. RF and Mr. Imtiaz, Assoc. RF, described the Punjab Growth Model 2023. Dr. Hafiz A. Pasha presented future growth trajectories under different scenarios in the light of the model. Minister for Finance found the Punjab Growth Model to be an effective policy tool for evidence based decision making.
